Hurricane Sandy’s effect New York City property values is the focus of Professor Francesc Ortega’s presentation
Tuesday October 4th at 4pm in E530 Dealy Hall. Please join us. Professor Ortega and his Queens College colleague Suleyman Taspmar use 12 years of NYC housing price data to investigate how rising sea levels have affected City in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. Their research shows Sandy and rising sea levels had persistent affects on housing prices, a problem many coastal cities are likely to face in coming decades. Professor Ortega’s previous research has focused immigration and schooling.
